Isaiah 36 & 37

Hello! I'm Claudia and I want to put down some thoughts I've been having about healing our spirits. For 8 years now my daughter Jessica has had an affliction called RSD. It comes with lots of pain in whatever limb is  affected, and other difficulties. Since this is started we have been on Journey with God. I'm learning through being in the Bible which is God's Holy  Word that he is Sovereign over all things including Jessica's pain and difficulties.

And I have depended on God's word to keep me going and her going. There are many many encouraging scriptures and I decided today that I just needed to record for myself and my family some of the things I've been learning.

So, here goes! In my normal Bible reading I came upon Isaiah 36. There are many passages in Isaiah which I love but this one really spoke to me today. The scene for this particular passage is Sennacherib's campaign against Judah. In this chapter he sends some of his men to speak to the people of Jerusalem and Hezekiah the king. In Chapter 36 he boasts about the fact that he has been able to conquer all the people around them and that their gods were unable to stop him and he assured the people that the that they and their God will not be able to stop him. Hezekiah, being wise, goes to Isaiah the prophet for help and God speaks to Isaiah and says this: Donot be afraid of The Words which you have heard which the two servants of  the king of Assyria have blasphemed Me. surely I will send a spirit upon him and he shall hear a rumor and return to his own land and I will cause him to fall by the Sword in his own land. Then he says to Sennacherib:

The Virgin Daughter of Zion has despised you and laughed you to scorn,
Who have you approached and blasphemed? Against whom have you raised your voice,
And lifted up your eyes on high? Against the Holy One of Israel. By your servants you have reproached the Lord.

Therefore says the Lord , I will put my hook in your nose and my bridle in your lips,
And I will turn you back by the way which you came.

And then the Lord assures Hezekiah and everyone there that Sennacherib will not be able to come into their City. And he says:

For I will defend this city to save it for my own sake and for my servant David's sake!

Then the story goes on to say that the angel of the Lord went out and killed in the camp of the Assyrians 185,000 and later on Sennacherib went home and two of his sons killed him.

This is the power of our God! And he rules even when things don't look like he's ruling! So today I am trusting in the one who holds the hearts of all men in his hands and who guides everything and makes things happen according to His will.

I don't know if anyone will see this,  but if you do . . . remember the old song that says: it is no secret what God can do! What He's done for others He'll do for you! It is my prayer that this will help you to trust Him in whatever your difficulty is! Claudia
